Dr Leslie Tu
Dr Leslie Tu is the principal dentist at Williamstown Family Dental Group. Leslie has been providing patients with complete dental care for over 22 years. He worked at the Royal Dental Hospital, community clinic, and private practice for 7 years before working at the current address in 2003.
Leslie is a caring and experienced dentist with particular interests in dental implants and smile makeovers. Since graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1996, he has completed numerous postgraduate courses and educational programs, both in Australia and overseas. All these studies further enhance his knowledge and deepen his experience in the fields of cosmetic dentistry, dental implants and complex full mouth reconstructive dentistry. He completed the 1 year master clinician program in oral implantology at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2013. He received further advanced implant training in soft tissue graft through the department of periodontology at the University of Bern, Switzerland in 2016. He recently completed his 1 year training in comprehensive Orthodontics by IAADent.
Leslie strongly believes in getting to know his patients as a person rather than just a “mouth”. He is thorough, down to earth, calm and gentle. He builds excellent rapport and helps many patients overcome their fear of dentistry, both children and adults. To him, effective communication is the key to treatment success and good long-term patient relationships. He has built a reputation for providing quality, gentle pain-free dentistry to all his patients. He loves to share his dental expertise with his associates, helping them to develop their clinical skills.
Dr Leslie Tu is a member of the Australian Dental Association, ITI (International Team of Implantology), and IAO (International Association of Orthodontics).
On a personal note, Leslie enjoys travelling, philosophy and spending time with his wife and two girls on hiking adventures.
Dr Michelle Nguyen
Michelle graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Dental Surgery and Bachelor of Biomedicine. While she enjoys all aspects of dentistry, she has a particular interest in restorative dentistry and endodontics, and is certified for Invisalign Go. Michelle is always striving to make dental appointments a positive and empowering experience for her patients, with her gentle and calming demeanor.
Outside of dentistry, she enjoys trying new restaurants and food experiences, and spending time with her Japanese spitz.
Dr Karen Ker
Karen was brought up in Melbourne, however moved to Adelaide to complete her bachelor of dental surgery at the University of Adelaide. Following graduation she moved back to Melbourne and worked in several practices across both regional and metropolitan Melbourne.
Karen enjoys all aspects of dentistry in particular Invisalign and is focused on providing meticulous care to patients to ensure long term dental health. Karen understands the importance of not only providing optimal high quality care but also ensuring a gentle and soft approach to make patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns and during treatment.
When Karen isn’t working, she enjoys her time baking, playing piano but also is always keen to get active with a run or badminton.
Dr Stephanie Harjono
Dr Stephanie Harjono graduated from the University of Queensland. As a general dentist, Stephanie enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is dedicated to deliver the highest level of comprehensive care. Not only does Stephanie's kind and gentle nature bring about a positive and calming experience for her patients but also her thoroughness in her work ensures everyone will walk out gratified.
Stephanie regularly attends continuing professional development to ensure she is always updated with the modern aspects of dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling and trying out different culinary of the world.
Dr Shirley Ker
Dr Shirley Ker was born and raised in the western suburbs of Melbourne. She graduated with a Bachelors of Dental Science from the University of Melbourne in 2009 and has worked in rural and regional Victoria before settling in private practice in metropolitan Melbourne. Joining the team at Williamstown Family Dental Group in 2016, her practicing philosophy is “prevention is key” and aims to empower patients with knowledge and tools for a healthy smile.
Aside from dentistry, Shirley is the mother of two children and enjoys getting lost in a good book. She is an amateur photographer enjoying portrait photography (of the children), landscape photography (chasing sunsets), and is yet to conquer astrophotography.
Dr DOLLY THAI
After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2015, Dr Dolly has spent most of her career working privately between rural Gippsland and Melbourne, as well as in the public sector, treating high risk and marginalised clients and promoting dental health in the community. She is interested in all aspects of general dentistry, particularly in restorative care and oral surgery, and strives to always challenge herself and grow professionally to deliver the best of care for her patients.
Guided by each patient's needs and comfort, Dr Dolly’s mission is to improve everyone's confidence in their smiles, and to educate them on the importance of oral care. She wishes to help her patients feel comfortable in the dental chair and her relaxed and gentle approach has been well received by patients of all generations.
Outside of work, Dr Dolly enjoys having a good laugh with friends and family, playing sous chef to her partner’s cook ups, delving deep into a good book or movie (if her attention span allows it) and trying not to smother her overwatered plants with love.
